Pre-Pesach Tiyul for Deaf Youth

Deaf Youth from Tel Aviv Learn about their Land

On 15-17 April, some 85 deaf and hearing-impaired youth left for an Israeli journey, deepening their knowledge in Israel and in Israeli society. Activities included adventures in Eretz Ha’Ayalim in the Gush, a tour of Tel Azeka in the Beit Shemesh area, a night in the Latrun Forest, a tour of Yad Hashiryon with an explanation of the tanks and the IDF’s combat unit, a tour of Beit Guvrin National Park, seeing the bell caves, and a visit to the village of Beta Israel near Kiryat Gat. We learned about the lives of the Ethiopians in Ethiopian villages and experienced special cooking, pottery and writing workshops in Amharit. The trip left a big impact on the participants.
