Young Israel in Israel mourns the passing of Rabbi Julius Berman z”l, a true Jewish leader, visionary, and builder of many Jewish institutions over the past half century.
We extend our deep condolences his wife, Dorothy, and to his children – National Council of Young Israel President Rabbi Zev Berman, Myra Aminsky, Rabbi Eli Berman – and the entire family.

Strengthening Torah Leadership in Anglo Olim Communities Last week, Young Israel in Israel and the Rabbinical Council of America hosted the Olim Torah Leadership Conference in Modiin, bringing together close to 70 Rabbis, Rebbetzins, RCA members, and women leaders from Anglo Olim communities across Israel for a full day of learning and collaboration. The conference explored the challenges and opportunities facing the leaders of Anglo Olim communities today. Highlights included introductory remarks by YI Israel Director Rabbi Yossi Goldin and Rabbanit Shani Taragin, an inspiring keynote conversation with Rabbi Katriel Brander and Rabbi Shlomo Sobol on community building and creating belonging within Olim communities, as well as an engaging closing Q&A with Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon הרב יוסף צבי רימון on the future of the Dati Leumi community. Through panels, breakout sessions, and facilitated discussions, participants shared experiences, developed practical tools, and built meaningful connections that will continue to strengthen
