In advance of the upcoming International Agunah Day, Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the YI /JAFI Agunah & Get-Refusal Prevention Project gave a guest lecture to members of the ORA Fellowship, directly following Rabbi Shlomo Weissman, director of the Beth Din of America.

Dr. Levmore was able to “share screen” and teach the details of the international prenuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect, as found on the Young Israel site. She highlighted for the fellows the inners workings of the international agreement, and the necessity for couples to sign it, no matter their country of residence.

Congratulations to Director of the YI/JAFI Agunah & Get-Refusal Prevention Project, Dr. Rachel Levmore, on the publishing in print of her article in the prestigious Oxford Journal of Jewish Law, after six years of work!

Entitled “Divorce and Agunah: Halakhic Responses to Modernity”, it is an authoritative voice on the subject of the Agunah problem in modernity. This will remain a significant resource within the Oxford Journals at the highest level of academia worldwide -- for academics, rabbinical students and laypersons in various fields for generations.
