Young Israel in Israel focuses on establishing deeper connections to Jewish values and to the Land of Israel
We undertake this mission via enriching programming that empower our participants to strengthen their Jewish identity, their family unit, and their contribution to Israeli society and the Jewish Nation.

Young Israel in Israel
We are excited to share an amazing initiative that YI Israel is helping to bring to the English speaking communities, both in Eretz Yisrael and abroad. The “Hug and Gift Project”, חיבוק ומתנה in Hebrew, is an initiative that pairs up families from Israel and the Diaspora together with bereaved families, to give them a monthly “hug and gift” from Am Yisrael. Families that live in Israel have the opportunity to bring the monthly gift in person, whereas those abroad can send a monthly gift through an online vendor. The project is overseen by mental health professionals, and professional guidance is given to all the “adopting” families throughout the process in a dedicated whatsapp group for the project. This is an incredibly meaningful way for families in Israel and abroad to stay connected to the war and send love and support from a distance. Until now, the project has been

YI Israel was honored to partner with Yashar LaChayal ישר לחייל to provide gifts to injured soldiers at Tel Hashomer and Bet Levinstein. Due to the generosity of our supporters we were able to provide:
1) An Ipad cover and keyboard for a Nachal miluim soldier injured in Lebanon
2) An Ipad and keyboard for a Kfir soldier shot in the back in Gaza
3) Weights for an officer from Sayeret Nachal injured in Gaza
4) Shopping vouchers for a Kfir miluim soldier injured in Gaza who is struggling financially
5) Playstation for a soldier that will be leaving the hospital next week and was told to use playstation for rehab
