IYIM Hosts Deaf ASL Slam Star Douglas Ridloff
We have been honored to co-host along with the SignTalk Foundation from New York, Douglas Ridloff, Deaf ASL Slam Poetry performer. Doug is a well own performer in the Deaf community worldwide who has come to tour Israel, as well as perform for a variety of audiences. Members of the Maaglei Shema network, as well as special schools in Israel had the opportunity to experience his performances and workshops. His visited also included a meeting with the Israeli Deaf Sports Association, where he met young accomplished athletes who are Deaf and Hearing impaired making a mark in the world. He also performed for a fun night at the Nocturno Cafe in Jerusalem where SignTalk officially launched their brand in Israel. SignTalk is a one of a kind foundation in America which strives to bridge the gap between the Hearing and the Deaf by providing sign language interpreters for all types of events and conferences.
This visit has left an everlasting impact on both the Israel Deaf Community and Douglas Ridloff, an international bond has been formed and barriers have been broken with advocating for inclusion in mainstream society.
