Deaf and Hearing Impaired Bnei Mitzvah Celebrate in Jerusalem
On Monday, May 20th, IYIM hosted it’s annual Deaf bar/bat mitzvah celebration at Kehilat Nitzanim in Baka. Over close to 80 Deaf and hard of hearing youth from all over the country came together for this special occasion. We were honored to have Isaac Herzog of the Jewish Agency join us and share a few words. The celebrants enjoyed a magic show, being called up to the Torah, receiving gifts, a festive lunch and a special tour of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City. The day concluded with an inspirational visit to the Kotel. An exciting and uplifting day was had by all.
