Dr. Levmore Speaks at Har Etzion
The prominent Hesder Yeshiva – Yeshivat Har Etzion – invited Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, to teach the entire student body about get-refusal and the Agreement for Mutual Respect for its prevention. Alongside two other speakers, a rabbinical court judge and a professor of law, the yeshiva students learned in a two-day seminar, about the real-life applications of their theoretical studies in Masekhet Gitin in the Talmud. Dr. Levmore made an hour and forty-five minute presentation, attended by the students, their rabbi-teachers as well as the Rosh HaYeshiva Harav Baruch Gigi. The in-depth lecture was followed by a fascinating half-hour “private” discussion between the rabbi who had organized the seminar, together with Harav Gigi and Dr. Levmore, while surrounded by the students, eager to hear and learn from the thoughts of the three distinguished halakhists standing before them.
