A beautiful new shul for a special army base
This week, IYIM held a shul dedication on the Telem Base, thanks to our generous sponsor Harvey Schwartz and the Leo V. Berger fund. It was an honor and a pleasure to meet the young men and women of the base who are dedicated to the safety and protection of the people of Israel.
Before the ceremony, the event included an explanation of what they do, watching them perform a drill, and even target practice for the guests.
The ceremony then moved up to the shul where soldiers and guests danced with the Sifrei Torah, previously donated by generous sponsors through IYIM. We were humbled to be joined by parents a brother of a soldier from this base who had been killed in action. There were pairs of tefilin donated in his memory at the ceremony .
