Lecture: Preventing Get Refusal in our Communities
The Nitzanim Community Synagogue in Baka,Jerusalem, invited Dr. Rachel Levmore, Director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, to deliver an introductory lecture to the topic of “ The Get-Refusal Problem and its solution: the Agreement for Mutual Respect”. Participants asked incisive questions, which demonstrated internalization of the message. For beyond the aim of educating the public, this particular lecture had an additional purpose—preparing for a community Postnuptial signing event to be held in the Fall.
Seminar: Midrashat Migdal Oz
A seminar entitled “Agunot and Get-Refusal: Background to the problem and the Agreement for Mutual Respect for its solution” was presented to a large group of advanced students at the Migdal Oz Midrasha and College for Women, by Dr. Rachel Levmore-Director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project. The students were so engaged, internalizing the information and asking deep questions, that the presentation lasted an hour longer than planned!
