Historic Siyum Hashas event in Jerusalem
Over 3000 people were in attendance at the Religious Zionist – Siyum Hashas event on January 2nd, 2020 in Binjanei Hauma Convention Center. This revolutionary event highlighted the completion of the 13th Daf Yomi study cycle. This mega-celebration was organized and sponsored by the International Young Israel Movement, the World Mizrachi movement, and Mifal Tzionut Ha’Datit. IYIM proudly displayed our various programming and materials at the booth by the entrance.
The event started with four simultaneous English sessions which included: Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Rimon, Rabbi Sholom Gold, Yedidya and Sivan Meir Rahav being interviewed by Nachum Segal and a panel on Women’s Torah learning featuring: Rabbanit Hannah Henkin, Rabbanit Shani Taragin and Rabbanit Rachelle Fraenkel. The English program continued with TED-style talks by featured speakers and a keynote address by Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman (president, Yeshiva University).
The celebrations continued in the main auditorium where participants were addressed by Rav Yisrael Meir Lau (Chief Rabbi fo Tel-Aviv), Rav Yakov Ariel(Chief Rabbi of Ramat Gan), Rav Jonathan Sacks (by video) and many more. The amazing musical performances were given by Yishai Rebibo, Yaakov Meir and Yonatan Raziel.
The atmosphere was electrifying throughout the audience and a buzz could be felt in the crowd. Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive- everyone who attended felt part of a historic and inspiring event.
