Dr. Levmore speaks to Midreshet Harova students
On the eve of Taanit Esther—International Agunah Day, Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of IYIM’s Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, lectured to over 70 overseas students of Midreshet HaRova. These young women from all over the Jewish world, listened intently to an analysis of the agunah problem and its preventative solution – signing either the Israeli Agreement for Mutual Respect or the Binding Arbitration Prenuptial Agreement of the Beth Din of America. Dr. Levmore instilled in them that they are now emissaries for a mitzvah—to ensure that every one of their marrying friends sign a prenuptial agreement. Following the lectures and the hour-long questions and answer period, one young woman approached Dr. Levmore and consulted with her—while texting, on the spot, her friend in the US who is getting married in four days!
