Efrat Community enjoys Dr. Levmore's lectures

First Lecture:
At midnight on Shavuot night, Dr. Rachel Levmore, the director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, delivered a lecture to the Shirat Hatamar community members in Efrat, as part of the all night Torah study. The subject, “Shaming: An Old-New Tool of the Rabbinical Courts”, engendered a deep discussion of get-refusal, coercion and court-ordered public shaming of a recalcitrant husband.
Second Lecture:
Dr. Rachel Levmore, the director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, was invited by the Moroccan Synagogue in the Tamar neighborhood of Efrat to deliver a Torah lecture to the women of the community on the holiday of Shavuot. Appropriately, the lecture was titled: “First to Declare a Prenuptial Agreement for the Prevention of Get-Refusal: The Moroccan Rabbinical Council’s Ordinance (1953)”.
