A powerful article, calling on Jews living in the US to contact their elected representatives so that they can help bring home two Israeli soldiers—Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul killed and abducted in the 2014 Gaza war– was published in the Jewish Press. Authored by Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, the commandment of Redemption of Captives was presented in a universal sense, accompanied by the Jewish Law reasoning for “humanitarian action in exchange for humanitarian action for humanitarian action. It is the United States’ responsibility to put forth the clear principle that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be based on humanitarian action on the other side.” See Rachel Levmore, “Bring Hadar and Oron Home”, The Jewish Press, 3.6.21
