Two rabbis oppose the prenup that prevents women from becoming agunot

For the Sake of Heaven and Agunot

In response to unsubstantiated statements made by two hardline Israeli rabbis against the signing of prenuptial agreements, the Jerusalem Post published an historically based response by Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project. In her response Dr. Levmore detailed the development of prenuptial agreements for the prevention of get-refusal, initiated by the rabbinic establishments in Morocco and the United States, supported by leading rabbis of Israel, until the developments of the Israeli Agreement for Mutual Respect. This led to public commitments to the signing of prenuptial agreements by tens of community rabbis on social media, including a statement by the Beit Hillel rabbinic organization.
