Dr. Levmore participates in training identifying spousal abuse, provided to rabbinic community leaders
The director for the IYIM Project for the Prevention of Agunot and Get-Refusal, Dr. Rachel Levmore, participated in a unique training program for rabbinic and spiritual leaders facing spousal abuse in their communities, sponsored by the Beit Hillel rabbinic organization. Professionals from various government institutions lectured (police, welfare, etc.) and participants shared ideas and difficult situations in workshops. New tools and resources were presented while clarifying the various kinds of abuse – physical, emotional, financial, etc. Just two days later, following the program, a woman facing severe emotional abuse with children traumatized by what they had witnessed, contacted Dr. Levmore desperate for help. Dr. Levmore was able to assist the woman through the resources acquired.
