Postnuptial Signing event in Maaleh Adumim

Hosting a Postnuptial Signing Event even during a pandemic!

The IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project held a Postnuptial Agreement Signing Event in Maaleh Adumim. It was hosted  by Aliza Gable Lipkin according to all the health regulations and the instructions given by our director of the project, Dr. Rachel Levmore. All the handouts were supplied ahead of time. A light meal was enjoyed by all; Dr. Levmore delivered a lecture emphasizing the ideal the couples were fulfilling in signing a postnuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect and helping to eradicate the agunah problem by personal example and its societal impact; the lecture was viewed on a large screen via Zoom; The couples then proceeded, one at a time to sign the postnuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect in an halakhic manner—in front of two halakhic witnesses (separated by the required two meters) and with a kinyan – all according to the guidance of this project. The feeling of serving a higher purpose infused the participants who were remarkably determined to impact their family and social circles with the message—Every marrying couple must sign the prenuptial agreement for the prevention of get-refusal.
