Dr. Levmore lectures "Appointing Rabbinical Court Judges"
The residents of the Dagan neighborhood in Efrat were fascinated by a lecture delivered by Dr. Rachel Levmore, the director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project. Speaking about “Appointing Rabbinical Court Judges: In the Days of Yore and in Our Times”, Dr. Levmore led the participants in an in-depth study of the rules governing the appointment of judges in the Bible and Jewish law, through the State of Israel’s laws governing appointments, until the actual workings of the Committee for the Appointment of Dayanim – of which she was a member. The participants were so appreciative of Dr. Levmore’s illuminating presentation that they lined up at the conclusion to personally thank her!
