A Thousand Years After Rabbeinu Gershom- Prenuptial Agreements are as relevant as ever!
The Jewish Press, the leading Orthodox Jewish newspaper in the United States, published an article authored by Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the IYIM Project for the Prevention of Agunot and Get-Refusal. Appearing both in the printed edition and in two different sites online, the article “A Thousand Years after Rabbeinu Gershom” educated the readers regarding divorce – beginning from the biblical source, the difficulties in Jewish law which arose from the verses and how the Sages provided innovative halakhic solutions every thousand years.
