Dr. Levmore publishes with Oxford University Press

Agunah problem in modernity article included in international handbook

The director of the IYIM Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project, Dr. Rachel Levmore, was honored with the request to join in the authorship of the Oxford Handbook of Jewish Law. Each chapter of the book is authored by a leading academic—professor in both US and Israeli universities. Recognized as an international expert in the field, Dr. Levmore’s chapter analyzes the agunah problem in Modernity. As part of the process of peer review of the first drafts of all the chapters, an international academic conference was held over four afternoons, via Zoom. Dr. Levmore made her presentation of her chapter, engendering great interest and praise. Work will continue through an editing process, until final publication of the book, under the Oxford University imprimatur. The Oxford Law Handbooks provide a foundational text for Law Schools around the world – both for academic researchers and regularly assigned for reading to students.
