Seminar on Israel's Rabbinic Court System
The Pardes Institute invited Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the YI Agunah & Get-Refusal Project, to lecture in a seminar for adult students. This particular cohort was made up of Americans, Canadians and British learned rabbinic students from all three streams, The three hour seminar included a description of Israel’s Rabbinic Court system; female Rabbinical Court Advocates within the system; get-coercion and Jewish law relating to it; the problem of agunot and Get-Refusal; The Prenuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect; and the Tripartite Agreement. All of the students were completely engaged and grateful for the knowledge imparted.
