Virtual Agunah event in partnership with ORA
Marking International Agunah Day, the International Young Israel Movement (IYIM), in partnership with the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot (ORA), hosted the FIRST EVER virtual Agunah Day event. The groundbreaking online event was open to a global audience, which was broadcast live to hundreds of viewers tuning in on both the Zoom platform and Facebook live feed to hear fascinating words of wisdom on the topic of Halachic Prenuptial Agreements.
The speakers of the event included, Dr. Rachel Levmore, Director of Agunah and Get Refusal Prevention Project at IYIM, Keshet Starr, ESQ Executive Director at the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot (ORA) and Rabbi Judah Kerbel, Morah D’Asra at Queens Jewish Center (QJC). Also presenting was a young couple, Elisheva and Betzalel Cohn, who proudly displayed their Halachic prenuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect and shared their thoughts on why it was important for them to sign and encouraged others to follow in their footsteps.
