Rabbi and educator Sid Slivko has lived in Jerusalem since 1997. A musmach of YU (1977), he served Assistant Rabbi at Shaare Shamayim in Philadelphia and, subsequently, Assistant Director of Synagogue Services, RIETS/Division of Communal Services. Before his aliyah, he went full time into education, serving both on the faculty of the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies and as Judaic Studies teacher, family education coordinator and middle school student advisor at the Solomon Schechter School of Bergen County. In Israel, he was head of the Jewish Agency’s pioneering online adult Education program The Jewish University in Cyberspace. He continues to teach Tanakh, Talmud and Jewish History and Jewish thought in person and online. Rabbi Slivko is also an artist and calligrapher and serves as Community Relations Coordinator for Olim Paveway…in his spare time, of course.
