Postnup Signing Event

Women’s Beit Midrash, Efrat

Over 100 couples joined IYIM in Efrat for the first of what would become many big and exciting post nuptial signing party. 

The evening celebrated and promoted mutual respect between husband and wife. The purpose of this and all future like events is to emphasize the extreme importance of ridding our society of the tragedy of get-refusers. 

After hearing speeches by Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of IYIM’s Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention program, and Rav Baruch Gigi, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Har Etzion, the participants understood the background and importance of signing a halakhic prenup or postnup. By signing, these couples are setting a precedent for it to become the norm for the next generation to sign a prenup before marriage as a part of the whole engagement process. All present got to enjoy the educational and purposeful evening, complete with refreshments, live music and of course taking part in “tikkun olam” – repairing the world.
