Nafshi Wellness Rabbi

Michael Friedman, M.Ed, LPC is a seventh generation rabbi.  He received semicha from Ha’Rav Gedalia Dov Schwartz, Zt”l and Ha’Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, Zt’l, and completed the NCYI Rabbinical Training Program in 2007-2008. He has a Master of Education in Counseling, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Talmudic Law (Ner Israel Rabbinical College).  He is the Co-Founder and Wellness Rabbi for “Nafshi,” a non-profit organization that combines Torah ideas with holistic principles of psychological and emotional wellness. Friedman served as assistant rabbi for Shaare Tefilla of Dallas, Judaics Instructor of Akiba Yavneh Academy, Yachad chapter coordinator, and mental health therapist in Dallas, TX before making aliyah in 2021.  He specializes in relationships, intimacy, couples counseling, OCD and collective/intergenerational trauma in the Jewish community. He is the author of “The Healing Haggadah – Passing Over Trauma,” (Mosaica Press) about collective trauma, resilience, and national hope for Am Yisrael.
